For the past two weeks, the LGBA 2020 Planning Committee and Rose City Pride Bands’ Board of Directors, and the LGBA Board have been assessing the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic as it relates to our upcoming conference. As this crisis has progressed and more information has come to light, it is with great sadness that we have come to the conclusion that we will be unable to move forward with the Building Bridges Conference in July as planned.
As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization who has fronted the cost of marketing materials, venue deposits, and music, the Rose City Pride Bands is facing a difficult financial road ahead. We also understand that a great number of our broader community has been caught up in the tidal wave of business closures and layoffs, and that these are truly challenging times for all of us.
We will begin processing registration refunds on April 15th. We know how crucial these funds are to you, especially during these turbulent times. However, If you would like to donate your registration fees back to the organization, please email us before April 15th to let us know, at conference@rosecitypride.org. This of course would help us immensely to offset costs accrued to date, and we are grateful for your generosity.
The Mission of the Rose City Pride Bands is to provide a welcoming space for members and allies of the LGBTQ Community to forge connections through music. Although in these difficult times we find that our mission is being challenged, we will continue to search for new and creative ways to forge connections. In this spirit, we are currently investigating alternative ways to meaningfully bring us all together in the future.
