DEIAB Mission and Vision
Pride Bands Alliance believes that arts and culture are essential for creating a healthy society. As an LGBTQ+ arts organization, we prioritize promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging (DEIAB).
We commit to:
- Understanding and respecting different cultures and experiences.
- Acknowledging and addressing biases, both conscious and unconscious.
- Ensuring our leadership represents the communities we serve.
- Educating and empowering our Members on DEIAB initiatives.
- Seeking input from our members to find diverse solutions.
We will achieve DEIAB by:
- Ensure inclusive language across all policies and procedures.
- Create avenues for honest and tough discussions via online and in-person forums.
- Partner with organizations in underserved communities.
- Share DEIAB resources with Member Bands.
- Engage with diverse vendors, clinicians, composers and artists.
We expect all Members to uphold these principles in their conduct. Our diversity is a strength, and our motto of “Music, Visibility, and Pride” emphasizes our expectation to be respected as valued community members.
